Minors Involved In Serious Pennsylvania Crashes

TeenDriverGroup

Although every fatality is a tragedy when it comes to car accidents, the deaths of children are particularly difficult to accept. These young Pennsylvania residents had their whole lives in front of them – lives that were cut short due to prevalent hazards on our roads. Within the past few days, numerous minors have lost their lives or suffered critical injuries in accidents that probably could have been prevented. If you have lost a young family member in a crash, you might be wondering what to do next.

Teenager Loses Life in Northumberland County

On November 29th of 2023, it was reported that a teen driver had lost her life in a Northumberland County crash. Police say that the crash occurred around 1 AM, and that it involved the teen losing control of her vehicle. The exact cause of the single-vehicle crash is not clear, although the victim was apparently not wearing her seatbelt. A 20-year-old passenger in the vehicle survived with minor injuries, and this individual was wearing her seatbelt. This crash highlights the importance of wearing seatbelts – especially among young drivers.

Three Children Hospitalized after Crash in Amwell Township

On November 26th, it was reported that three children had been hospitalized after a crash in Amwell Township. Very little information was revealed about the exact circumstances of the accident. However, reports show that a MedVac helicopter quickly arrived at the scene to administer aid and transport the survivors to the nearest hospital. There is no word on the exact condition of the children, and two adults were also hospitalized as a result of the crash.

How Do You Pursue Compensation for Your Child’s Injuries after a Car Crash?

Minors cannot file personal injury claims on their own due to the fact that they are not legal adults. The responsibility of taking legal action on behalf of children falls to their parents. Fortunately, this process occurs in almost exactly the same way as a typical injury claim with few additional complexities. You can work alongside a personal injury attorney in Pennsylvania to pursue compensation for your children. Damages associated with these accidents might include:

  • Medical expenses
  • Emotional distress
  • Disfigurement
  • PTSD
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Pain & Suffering
  • Future Economic Loss

Taking Legal Action after the Death of a Child in a Car Accident

If you have lost a child in a Pennsylvania car accident, you will need to file a wrongful death claim and survival claim on behalf of the deceased victim. This process is the same as a normal injury claim, although additional damages may be pursued by family members. For example, you can pursue compensation for funeral expenses.
